Actually, family couldn’t be present for the celebration. Without community there would not have been a celebration. Gathering together with friends from the local church made it a great day.

With community there comes a sense of commitment; the “we wouldn’t miss it for the world” kind. That you would plan, take time, and show up speaks volumes to the recipient. The void of not having family is filled with those that care.

Some call this the ministry of presence.
