Pray, Look, Listen, Engage

In Acts 17:23, Paul addresses those in Athens with this, “For as I walked around and looked carefully at your objects of worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: TO AN UNKNOWN GOD. Now what you worship as something unknown I am going to proclaim to you.” He then proceeds to tell them about this “unknown” God, because He is known by Paul. What a beautiful opportunity Paul had to share the Gospel!

At the end of each post on this blog, you find ❤️PRAY ❤️LOOK ❤️LISTEN ❤️ENGAGE. Paul gives a great example of what this might look like when engaging with people from a community very different from a Christian community. It was apparent that there was the desire to worship someone or something. Because of their community they seemed to be trying to “cover their bases” by having many gods. But Paul saw an opportunity presenting itself for the gospel.

We were created to worship the One True God. There is a searching for Him that takes place in each of us; but in the wrong community the attempts to find Him fall short. Remember, throughout the day to pray, look, listen and engage with those that might acknowledge there is a God, but they don’t know Him.

Remember, you DO know Him and it’s time to make Him known. There are many in the community of “THE UNKNOWN GOD”. Maybe God is having you cross their path as He did with Paul in Athens. Maybe you were born for such a time as this. Maybe it’s time to ❤️PRAY ❤️LOOK ❤️LISTEN ❤️ENGAGE
