We were created by God for community. We were never intended to go through life alone. God Himself is relational and desires for us to have flourishing, abundant life through relationship through His son, Jesus. Because we are made in His image, we are also relational. He created us to grow in our relationship with Him, by being in relationship with others.
MY FRIEND’S HOUSE fosters community through the local church.”
Are you a Christian? Can you name all the people living on your street? Do they know that you have found hope in Christ? Here are some ways to connect with the people in your neighborhood.
- PRAY for the neighbors on your street. (BlessEveryHome.com has an app that will guide you in praying for your neighbors.)
- LOOK for moments to show kindness, to embrace inclusion, and to share the transformative work of God in your life. These simple acts can illuminate the path of hope for others.
- LISTEN to the Holy Spirit and your neighbors. Be present as they share with you.
- ‘Interact with your neighbors on your street. ENGAGE in conversation at the mailbox, during yard work, or at social gatherings; share laughter, tears, and prayers together.’
MY FRIEND’S HOUSE encourages Christians to be actively serving in their church as well as their neighbors. To help foster engagement with both, we have a weekly blog with thoughts ways to reach your neighbors.
