Prayer Community

One of the greatest benefits of the community of the Church is the network of prayer. One community of Christ followers, located in smaller communities all over the world, can come together united in prayer. They pray knowing that we have a Father in heaven that hears and answers.

And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.”

1 John 5:14-15

The word was put out for a prayer request. In minutes, responses on Facebook and texts start coming in reading “Praying”. The beautiful part is that some responses are from a nearby community of people just seen or talked with in recent days. (The local church community.) But then…responses from people you haven’t seen in years, over 10 years, over 20 years!

The prayer community is beautiful to experience. It is not “well-wishes” and “I hope…”. There’s a confidence and peace that comes with it because all are united in believing that God hears. He’s not a “genie in a bottle” where you are entitled the granting of 3 wishes. He’s a loving Father.

When a group, sometimes a very large group of God’s sons and daughters pray, He hears. He is glad that His children approach Him with trust that He will provide peace, be near and will give the best answer for the situation.

One response to “Prayer Community”

  1. Thanks for the reminder of the power of prayer! Some of the things God has done in my life have been a direct result of people praying over Walt and I after we have confessed what’s going on and God heard our prayer! God is faithful and hears our crys.
