Many people enjoy helping others. The challenge is to engage, learn their story and find ways to see people before you see their need. Transformation is what Jesus offered. He listened and met the true need of the person and not just the need that everyone else noticed.

How Can You Engage People in Need?

1. Instead of handing out food to the hungry and thinking that you’ve met the need…
   1. Offer to sit and eat with them.
   2. Buy a meal for them in a restaurant.
   3. Invite into your home for a meal around your table.
2. Instead of inviting people to church…
   1. Offer to give them a ride to church and take them to lunch afterwards.
   2. Be willing to invite them to a smaller setting of believers that you attend: home fellowship group, game night or crafts.
   3. Find out if they’ve ever been to church or if they have a Bible. Meet with them ahead of a church visit to explain what a service is like or how to use a Bible.
3. Volunteer with Love INC. (Love In the Name of Christ)
   1. Become educated about people in your community.
   2. Learn what your neighbor truly needs.
   3. Volunteering with Love INC will train you in your God-given skills and community to develop relationships with your neighbors.
